President Obama Signs Massachusetts Emergency Declaration For Sandy
President Obama has declared Sandy an emergency situation here in Massachusetts.
He has ordered federal aid to supplement the state and local response efforts, making the resources and equipment of FEMA and Homeland Security available, if necessary.
The action also helps speed up funding after the effects of Sandy come through. According to the White House press release, "Emergency protective measures, limited to direct federal assistance, will be provided at 75 percent federal funding."
