Portsmouth Junior High School Students Snorting Smarties

According to NBC 10,  Portsmouth Middle School officials sent out a note  to parents about snorting the candy "Smarties". School officials said the new trend had made it to area students.

The letter contained information about medical issues that can come as a result. Some side effects include nasal cavity scarring, irritation of the lungs and allergic reactions.

According to NBC 10, school officials didn't answer any additional questions.
