Police: New Bedford Liquor Store Robbed at Gunpoint

NEW BEDFORD - A County Street liquor store was the target of an armed robbery Monday.

New Bedford Police say just after 4 p.m. Monday, a man walked into Washington Square Package Store at 281 County Street, displayed what looked like a handgun, and demanded money from the register. The suspect took cash and a pack of cigarettes and fled the store.

He's described as a white male, about 6' tall and 160-170 pounds. He was seen wearing black sweatpants, a grey hoodie, and black shoes.
