NEW BEDFORD - Police are investigating three shootings, this time in New Bedford's West End.

Police say the first shooting took place in the area of Kempton and Chancery Streets around 6 P.M. Monday. One vehicle was damaged by the gunfire.

The second shooting took place several hours later at 10 P.M. in the area of Ash Street, between Hillman and Maxfield Streets, just a few blocks away. No evidence of gunshots were found at the scene.

The third shooting took place minutes later at Smith and Chancery Streets. A home at 222 Smith Street sustained damage from the shooting.

No injuries were reported in any of the shootings. All of the gunshots were detected by the City's ShotSpotter sytem.

Police believe the shootings are connected, as they all took place within blocks of each other.

No arrests have been made. The shootings remain under investigation.
