So Punxsutawney Phil hasn't been the most accurate in the last 10 years. In fact, he has only gotten it right 40 percent of the time. This year, the Groundhog predicts a shorter winter. Guess we will have to wait and see. I'm thinking we get another "polar vortex" and a good blizzard before we see warmer days!

No disrespect to the weatherman, but I personally think the groundhog is just as reliable. I mean, if you have lived in New England for any amount of time you would know: if you don't like the weather, just wait five minutes. It's going to be in the 50's this week—that's spring like weather in February, explain that?!

My guess is we get one more good snow and maybe a another polar vortex or two and then we are back at Horseneck  Beach or Round Hill soaking up that sun. I'll work on my Portuguese tan lines.

Speaking of which, I'm looking forward to my first spring and summer back in the area. I'll admit it, I use to cruise "the ave" and blast Fun 107 on those perfect spring and summer nights. Don't deny it, you've done it too!

Anyway, I hope the hog is right. Spring is my favorite time of year so bring it on sooner than later, please. I definitely don't want the groundhog to lose his job or anything but lets just say if I were wrong as much as he has been I'm pretty sure I wouldn't have a job.

P.S. - Some of my dearest friends are in the weather business. No weather man or woman was harmed in the writing of this article.
