Once again, Chad and Auntie Mae at Peter's Family Orchard have stepped in to help me make an awesome Thanksgiving dinner. This time they taught me how to make an apple pie.

One of the first things Chad and Mae taught me is that I don't have to make a homemade crust! Save some time where you can and a store bought crust is just fine. Then, we moved on to choosing the apples. I thought we would be using the same kind of apples for a pie, keep it consistent right? Nope! We used three different kinds of apples, Cortland, MacIntosh and Golden Delicious.

Another trick is to cut the apples into quarters before peeling them. It's a lot easier this way. Don't forget to put some flour on your cutting board before rolling out the dough, so that it won't stick. You'll need some white sugar, cinnamon and get this...salt! Yup!

Our pie came out awesome and Chad even showed me how to make a fancy crust with festive designs on it! There's even something you can do with the apple peels, so be sure not to throw them away!  Check out the video here:
