Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez has been arrested. A number of law enforcement officials in suits entered the home at about 8:45 this morning. Two minutes later, the officers walked Hernandez out of the home in handcuffs and sat him in the back of a police cruiser. Bristol County DA Sam Sutter says Hernandez will be arraigned at 2 o'clock this afternoon at Attleboro District Court.  The New England Patriots released the star tight end within 90 minutes of his arrest.
It is unclear what the charges will be, but he is presumably being charged with obstruction of justice for smashing his home security cameras and destroying his own cellphone before police could get a hold of it. The body of his friend, Odin Lloyd, was found last Monday evening not far from the Hernandez mansion in North Attleboro. Police want to ask the Patriots tight end why he had a huge cleaning crew come in to scrub his home on the same day the body was found. The DA's office is not ruling out that his current charges in this homicide case may be upgraded to more serious charges.

In a separate case, Hernandez is being sued in Florida by a man who claims he shot him in the face after an argument at a strip club. That case is civil for now, but criminal charges may still be filed.
