Thanks to helping from the public, Dan Desmaris got the kidney transplant he was so desperately in need of, and now his family is trying to pay it forward to help another local woman.

Through Dan’s search for a kidney, his family met Patricia Kehoe of Dartmouth who also is in need of a living kidney donor.  Blood type A or O.

Patricia has been driving around with her phone number on her car for over two years, but still has not found the life-saving donor she has been searching for.

Since the Facebook page "A Kidney For Dan" was so successful, now they have a new mission to find a kidney for Patricia.

Patricia is a former teacher at Westport High School, she has been married for 40 years, is a mom and grandmother to a 3-year-old girl, who is pictured below with Dan’s youngest granddaughter.

Patricia has been on dialysis and waiting for a donor since October 2014. A living donor would greatly improve her quality of life and her life expectancy.

To inquire about being a donor for Patricia, please contact her transplant nurse Karen Curreri at Boston Medical Center, Karen.Curreri@BMC.org or (617) 638-8368.

All the necessary testing, the procedure itself, and follow-up medical care is covered by Patricia's insurance.

Dan's family urges you, if you've ever thought about becoming a kidney donor but are not a match for Patricia, contact the donor coordinator at Brigham and Women’s Hospital by e-mailing BWHKidneyDonorInfo@Partners.org.

They have so many people waiting to find a match, and you could help save a life!
