A patient having surgery at Cape Cod hospital had their hair catch on fire during the operation.

CBS Boston reports that the patient was undergoing surgery on Monday night when their hair caught fire.

The hospital says a "heat generating piece of equipment" is to blame for the incident, but added that hospital staff members were quick to extinguish the flames.

A hospital spokesman says the Hyannis Fire Department was called to the hospital as a precautionary measure.

No word on the extent of the patient's injuries.
