The three-day warm-up in Southern New England will end abruptly Monday night as a "backdoor" cold front swings the wind around to the northeast on Tuesday. After highs in the 80s on Monday, it will struggle to reach the mid to upper 50s on Tuesday. The cold front will arrive after midnight, and Tuesday should be in the 50s all day. The northeast breeze, and potential for some clouds will make it feel even cooler.

Wednesday also looks like a rather cool day, with highs possibly reaching the low 60s if the sun breaks through for several hours. The late-workweek and weekend weather will be unsettled, with showers possible Thursday and Friday, and rain likely Friday night and Saturday. A southerly wind means temperatures should make it into the 60s, but the threat of rain could put a damper on weekend plans - especially on Saturday.
