DARTMOUTH — Two survivors of the Parkland, Florida, school shooting are scheduled to speak at an event at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth in October.

David Hogg and Jaclyn Corin, both survivors of the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School shooting on February 14, will be delivering a lecture entitled "The Student Voice and Policy Change." The lecture is the third installment in the university's Dr. Rev. Robert Lawrence Lectures. It is presented by UMass Dartmouth's Leduc Center for Civic Engagement in the main auditorium on the UMass Dartmouth campus on October 17.

Hogg and Corin are both leaders of the Never Again MSD movement. According to the event's website, their presentation will demonstrate how young people can affect policy through voting.

17 people, including 14 students and three staff members, were gunned down in the shooting. Nikolas Cruz, a student at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School, is charged with the shooting.
