Painting and drinking wine.... When it comes to a relaxing evening, it doesn't get any better than that.

The hobby has become popular here on the Southcoast and the activity is spreading like wildfire.

Recently, Rookies Bar and Grill, located at 1218 Acushnet Ave in New Bedford, MA, known for their authentic Portuguese cuisine and delicious cocktail beverages, tried out the trendy art night and it was a soldout success.

Amy Runway, a local New Bedford Entrepreneur, brought about the idea to the Camara Family (Owners of the Restaurant/Bar) and took it upon herself to start a paint night called "Not Your Average Paint Nite".

The event is taught by Local Elvin Gonzalez who has years of experience under his belt. His work can be seen at New Bedford Tattoo Company.

The next "Paint Nite" is still undetermined, but the event will be continuing by popular demand. This event cost only $30 for the night and includes a Canvas, paint, brushes and perhaps a glass of wine or two (21 plus only).

Since this was a sold out event, spaces for next time will be limited and details pertaining to event dates will be coming soon, possibly even at the end of May.

Throughout the night, painters can enjoy the convenience of a full cash/card bar as well as delicious homemade food from the kitchen of Rookies.
