Fashion designers, Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana are currently under fire for their latest comments in an interview with Italian magazine, Panorama.

"No chemical children: life has a natural course, there are things that shouldn't be modified," the magazine reports. The two men are gay, and were romantically involved for 20 years, but neither support gay marriage or in vitro fertilization.

Sir Elton John responded to the comments with abandon. He took to Instagram Sunday with this post:

John has received support from many celebrities on Twitter, including Ricky Martin, who has twin sons from a surrogate mother.

Dolce attempted to explain his reasoning with "I'm Sicilian and I grew up in a traditional family, made up of a mother, a father and children. I am very well aware of the fact that there are other types of families and they are as legitimate as the one I've known. But in my personal experience, family had a different configuration....I was talking about my personal view, without judging other people's choices and decisions," the statement read.

While #BoycottDolceGabbana is not trending on Twitter (yet), many people are responding in support of Sir Elton John. These tweets and Instagram posts feature images of their families, including their in vitro children, life partners and surrogate mothers. Their families are as legitimate as any "real" family, and shouldn't be thought of as works of science fiction.
