If you build it they will come. That's certainly true with the Osprey nesting platforms that were built in the wetlands on Mattapoisett's Angelica Point. The large birds of prey have built their nests and now welcomed babies.

Ospreys can be found in saltmarsh areas and near certain rivers and large ponds. According to Cornell University site allaboutbirds.org, the large birds are smaller than an eagle but larger than most other hawks. The birds are easy to spot thanks to their white heads with the brown mask near the eyes. The wings are brown on the top but white from underneath. Ospreys are naturals when it comes to swooping down to the water an grabbing fish with their talons.
