Brian Maixner is a waiter at the Doo-Dah Diner in Wichita, Kansas. One morning, a customer gave him an extremely generous tip that would change his life.

Fred Boettcher was dining with his family that weekend morning and noticed the "severe dental decay across Brian's smiling mouth." Maixner was so kind to all his customers, that Boettcher decided to grant him an "Act of Random Kindness, or 'ARK.'" With the help of the diner's owner, Timirie Shibley, Boettcher asked if it would be okay to pay to have Maixner's teeth fixed.

Maixner was overwhelmed by the offer, and broke down in tears of joy. "This man doesn't know me and this is something I could never afford to do for myself. It touched me so much that he cared," Maixner said.

However, Boettcher claims he is the one who is benefitting from the "ARK." He tries to give to others whenever possible. "As happy as that fella may be it feels so much better to be able to put a smile on his face," Boettcher said.
