NEW BEDFORD - One person has been shot in New Bedford on Monday morning.

New Bedford Police tell WBSM News officers were called to 367 Rivet Street at around 8:13 a.m. Monday for a report of a man suffering from a gunshot wound.

Police arrived on scene and found the victim, a male, suffering from a gunshot wound to his leg. The injury is not considered life threatening.

Scanner transmissions indicate the victim called 9-1-1 himself, and was uncooperative with dispatchers. Police at the scene report the victim continued to be uncooperative, and would not say where he was shot, as police do not believe he was initially shot at 367 Rivet Street.

The victim was transported to an area hospital for treatment.
