Officials Donate Seized Scallops to New Bedford Charities

NEW BEDFORD - Some folks in New Bedford were treated to a nice surprise Sunday night: a scallop dinner.

Massachusetts Environmental Police say during the course of an investigation Sunday, officers in New Bedford seized 100 pounds of shucked Atlantic scallops. Mass. Environmental Police did not say exactly where the scallops were seized from.

Officers then donated the raw scallops to the Missionaries of Charity and the Veterans Transition House, both in New Bedford.
