The National Weather Service has issued a Hazardous Weather Outlook for parts of three states this afternoon and evening, including the potential for an isolated tornado.

The outlook covers all of Massachusetts east of Berkshire County (including Bristol and Plymouth Counties), Rhode Island and northern Connecticut.

The NWS says scattered severe thunderstorms are possible this afternoon and evening, roughly between 2 p.m. and 9 p.m. The primary threat will be "damaging straight line wind gusts," according to the NWS. Other concerns include isolated large hail, as well as heavy rain and street flooding.

There is also low risk of an isolated tornado across western or central Massachusetts, and northern Connecticut.
