It feels so un-American to not have fireworks on the fourth, but this reason seems to make sense.

According to ABC News, A Connecticut town didn't have fireworks around a lake to avoid a bald eagle in it's nest. Apparently they were afraid of scaring the eagle out of the nest before it was ready to fly.

The eagles showed up in spring, according to the report. The State Department of Energy and Environmental Protection advised the first selectman of Columbia, Carmen Vance and others not to disturb or visit the nest.

Normally I'd be mad if my town decided not to do any fireworks for the fourth, but in this case it's actually pretty cool and almost patriotic that they didn't!
