The NFL is considering instituting a new penalty next season for players who use the "n-word" on the field during games,

According to Baltimore Ravens general manager Ozzie Newsome, who sits on the league's competition committee, which will meet next week to discuss the issue. Reportedly, the offense would be treated as an unsportsmanlike conduct foul, which would draw a 15-yard penalty. Newsome said that the committee also talked about other slurs coming under any possible new rule, including anti-gay slurs.

Do you think this is a good idea?

Seeing as how the public doesn't hear it, should it be penalized?
