New York Times Calls South Boston “SoBo”

What would happen if New York could rename areas of Boston? Could be happening right now! God help us. Really? Did they really call it that? SoBo? What is with New Yorkers and their compulsive need to assume there’s a clever abbreviation for everything.

According to Boston Magazine, “Southie,” as it’s been called by generations of natives, is now called “Sobo” by newcomers who live in that neighborhood. Ladies and Gentleman, this just doesn't sound right at all! Think of the carnage New York would inflict if they claim victory over our capital city.
