As many girls are gearing up for prom/dance/formal season, some might already have a dress picked out. One New Jersey School has decided to put a ban on a very popular style of dress.

The Readington, New Jersey school has decided to ban strapless dresses from an upcoming eighth grade dance. It does not have parents all to pleased. As a matter of fact, parents are going to an upcoming school board meeting to protest the sudden rule change.

According to Yahoo Shine, one parent is voicing her opinion, and says that the 'government' (school board) can't just go in and change the rule suddenly.

This statement was released by the school:

The Readington Township School District has a policy regarding dress code which is being universally applied to the school day and school events. We regret that a small number of families are upset by this and we welcome their input and communication. The Board of Education regularly reviews and revises policy through its Policy Committee.

So what do you say? Are you okay with the ban on strapless gowns for the dance, or is it unfair?
