New Bedford’s Very Own 2015 New Years Eve Extravaganza!

2015 is coming to a wrap and New Bedford is giving back to the community with a FREE New Year’s Eve Celebration!

The event is called ‘City Celebrates 2015’ and the activities are endless. This is a great way to spend time with your family with programs for all ages. See the list of events below:

  • The Seamen's Bethel- Church Service from 5-6 pm. Harpist Eve MacFarlane will be performing right afterwards from 6:30-7:30 pm.
  • The Y.M.C.A.- The Best Toe Jam Puppet Band. Three performances every hour @ 5:30 pm, 6:30 pm and 7:30 pm.
    • The Buttonwood Park Zoo will also have winter activities for all ages.
  • NBAM/Artworks- Jedlie's Magic Circus will be hosting a Family Magic Workshop as well as a Photo Booth from Ensemble Events.
  • Wings Court- DJ Anghelli will be spinning dance music from 5-8 pm.
  • Star Store UMASS Dartmouth CVPA- Live Jazz Music from 5:30-7:30 pm.
  • Lower Union Street/Pier 37 Restaurant- A LIVE performance by "Kekeli", a West-African Drum Ensemble will be playing from 7:00-8:30 pm.
  • Cafe' Arpeggio- Open Mic Night from 5:00-8:00 pm.
  • The New Bedford Whaling Museum- Children's Storytelling and Entertainment with Bill Harley from 5:30-6:30 pm.
  • The Zeitreihen Penler Space- Youth Orchestra String Quartet, 3rd EyE Cypher, Dream Out Loud Singers, and other musicians will be performing a Youth Celebration hosted by AHA! from 5:00-8:00 pm.
  • Custom House Square- Fire-Eating, Fire-Poi and Fire-Hoops with 'Cirque de Light'.
  • OVERHEAD ARTS- Stilt-Walkers, Unicycles and Glow Props.

These are just a few events that will be happening on New Years Eve in the Downtown, New Bedford area. Once again, ALL ages are invited and encouraged to enjoy great Family fun activities and events!

Most Importantly.... You can't forget about the Fireworks!!!! Head on down to the State Pier in New Bedford @ 8:30 pm for a Firework display like no other! 

These events take place from 5:00-8:30 pm, followed by Fireworks. Bring in the New Year with a Blast at the City Celebrates 2015 New Year's Eve Extravaganza!
