New Bedford’s Marlena Johnson Spotted On American Idol

Former Miss New Bedford, Marlena Johnson, appeared on Fox's American Idol last night.

Marlena's local friends and family have been breathlessly waiting for the BCC student's San Francisco audition to appear on the show's final season.

Fans caught a glimpse of Marlena putting on her makeup, but were disappointed when they did not see her perform in front of the judges.

Last summer, Marlena's sister, Samantha Johnson, made it to the semifinals of America's Got Talent.

Marlena is an assistant manager at Bath and Body Works in the Dartmouth Mall. She was the first winner of New Bedford Idol back in 2009.
