The homeless population faced  horrific weather conditions this past weekend as we had between 8-10 inches of snow dumped on us.  The winds were close 40 mph and made the temps feel like 20 below zero.  Thankfully, officials in New Bedford opened at the PAACA facility on Coggshall Street both Saturday and Sunday this past weekend.  Carl Alves who is the executive director said 19 individuals were welcomed into the shelter during the worst of the storm Saturday evening.

Not only did these folks have a warm place to stay and sleep at during the stow storm, they were treated to Domino's pizza for dinner and were served breakfast at Grace Church on Sunday morning.
