The New Bedford Police Union is bringing their family fun festival back to the Southcoast on July 6th, 7th, 8th and 9th and this year, it is officially being renamed the Whaling City Festival.

The Whaling City Festival was once a staple Southcoast event that operated for the last time in the summer of 2013.  Not wanting to see the family-friendly event disappear from the landscape, the New Bedford Police Union had organized the Family Fun Fest and continued to host the 3-day event at Buttonwood Park in Whaling City Festival's absence.

The NB Police Union now has permission to officially rename the Family Fun Fest the Whaling City Festival!  This year's event will again feature the circus with performances being held every day, food trucks serving up classic carnival food, wrestling shows, retail vendors, arts & craft booths and of course - carnival rides!

The circus will have one show on Thursday, one on Friday, 2 on Saturday and 2 on Sunday. Tickets are $9 for adults and $6 for kids under 12. (Children under 2 are free.)

For more information on this event or inquiries on how to get involved or be on-site, contact the New Bedford Police Union website here
