New Bedford Woman Arrested On Gun Charges

A New Bedford woman was arrested and arraigned this week on gun charges.

25-year-old Rany Pimental was arrested on Thursday after police found a Taurus .357 revolver and a Luger 9 millimeter Tec-9, along with 15 rounds of 9 millimeter ammunition, in her home on Hemlock Street.

Police say the Tec-9 was stolen from a home in Dartmouth and the Taurus is still being traced.

Pimental was apparently all smiles upon her arrest, which seems to be a trend in New Bedford mug shots these days.

She does not have a license to carry a firearm and was arraigned Friday on unlawful gun possession charges.
