Construction will begin next month on a $17 million expansion and upgrade to Greater New Bedford Regional Vocational Technical High School.   The project will add 14 new classrooms,  update the school's shop areas and science labs, and refashion the cafeteria into a food court with windows.

The current 490,000 square foot Voc-Tech building was built to handle about 1,600 students but now serves more than 2,100.   The expansion will add 25,000 square feet to the school and adds green technologies, including a water run-off system.
