New Bedford Teen Arrested, Police Find Loaded handgun

After getting a call that someone was circling the area of Wing Street and Acushnet Ave last night after a fight broke out, New Bedford detectives pulled over a black Maxima.  In the trunk of the car they found a loaded 22-caliber semi-automatic handgun.  The driver was 18-year-old Sidney Alves Maia of Grinnell Street.  He was arrested and charged with unlawfully carrying a loaded firearm.
