New Bedford Police are reporting that a Normandin Junior High School student was hurt yesterday afternoon during a fight in a classroom. The teacher in the classroom told police that he heard yelling and turned to see a 13- year-old student holding a 12-year-old student in a "choke hold." When the teacher yelled for the student to let him go, the victim dropped straight to the floor and split his chin on a stool. The boy was sent to St. Luke's hospital and was transported to Boston Children's Hospital.

This case is still under investigation and no further information is available at this time. Any disciplinary action will be handled through the school. There is no word of any criminal charges.
