New Bedford Police Find Cocaine in Rolled Over Car

NEW BEDFORD – Four people face charges after a police chase in New Bedford.

Police say during a crime sweep operation Wednesday night, police tried stopping a black Dodge Durango with four people inside. The vehicle fled from police and struck a chain link fence at Bates and Healy streets in the North End. Police were able to get two passengers out of the car before it sped off again.

When police caught up with the vehicle a second time, it was found on it’s side after hitting the front porch of a house on Belleville Avenue. Police found ten bags of cocaine in the car. The driver, 36-year-old Sarah Gada of New Bedford fled on foot and was not found, but has been summonsed along with three other people.

Summonsed in connection to the incident are:

  • Sarah Gada, 36, of 26 Nye Street, New Bedford
    • Possession with intent to distribute class B cocaine
    • Conspiracy to violate controlled substance laws
    • Illegally attaching plates
    • Failure to use turn signal
    • Reckless operation of a motor vehicle
    • Operating motor vehicle with a suspended license
  •  Mario Vardaro, 35, of 53 Quaker Lane, Rochester
    •  Possession with intent to distribute class B cocaine
    • Conspiracy to violate controlled substance laws
  •  Nicole Woodard, 26, of 87 Middle Street, Fairhaven
    • Possession with intent to distribute class B cocaine
    • Conspiracy to violate controlled substance laws
  •  Arjenis Torres, 20, of 892 County Street, New Bedford
    • Possession with intent to distribute class B cocaine
    • Conspiracy to violate controlled substance laws
