NEW BEDFORD—Three men were arrested Wednesday as part of an ongoing investigation by the New Bedford Police narcotics unit into street-level narcotics activity in the South End of the city.

Craig Hickey, 46, whose address is unknown, was charged with conspiracy to violate drug laws and  possession of Fentanyl. He was also arrested on a warrant from Fall River and on a warrant out of Rhode Island, leading to a fugitive from justice charge.

Roni R. Maocha, 27, of New Bedford was charged with possession of Fentanyl with intent to distribute and conspiracy to violate drug laws.

Robert A. Santos III, 25, of  New Bedford was charged with conspiracy to violate drug laws and possession of Fentanyl.

The arrests were made as a result of traffic stops on Dartmouth Street and near the 600-block of County Street in the early afternoon.
