New Bedford Police Arrest Three on Drug Charges
NEW BEDFORD—New Bedford Police arrested three people Monday all within a half hour, as detectives were targeting street-level drug activity in the city.
First, police arrested 32-year-old James Crowley of Carver in the parking lot of the Taco Bell on Coggeshall Street for Possession with Intent to Distribute a Class E Subatance (alprazolam) and Conspiracy to Violate Controlled Substance Laws. Police say Crowley was in possession of 48 tablets, and police seized $224 in cash.
Later, police arrested 22-year-old Haley Corrigan of Hyannis and 35-year-old Christopher Rule of New Bedford after they were found with a small amount of cocaine on them in the area of Sawyer Street and Bonneau Court. They were charged with Possession of a Class B Substance (Cocaine) and Conspiracy to Violate Controlled Substance Laws.
The three arrests all took place between 6:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. Monday night.
