New Bedford Police make drug bust 

According to New Bedford Police Facebook page, Last night at approximately 7pm members of the Organized Crime and Intelligence Bureau executed two search warrants resulting in the seizure of cocaine.

Detective Lavar Gilbert investigated a cocaine delivery service being conducted by Ana Valdez. Valdez was observed meeting up with customers in different parts of the city.

As a result of this investigation, he obtained a search warrant for her address at 20 Wilding St. in Fairhaven and her 2007 BMW. She was stopped last night at the intersection of Route 18 and Elm St. and taken into custody.

Inside the vehicle was 32 bags of cocaine weighing approximately 68 grams. A later search of her residence produced an additional 52 grams of cocaine for a total of 120 grams. The drugs have a street value of over $3,000.

Also found in the home was $8,365 in cash, digital scales, packaging material and cutting agents.

Scheduled to be arraigned this morning in New Bedford District Court:

Ana Victoria Valdez age 45 of 20 Wilding St. Fairhaven, Ma.

Charged with Trafficking Cocaine in excess of 100 grams.
