New Bedford's Emergency Overflow Shelter will be open Friday night.

Raymond Duarte, the Program Manager with Catholic Social Services, says they decided to open the shelter due to expected weather conditions.

The shelter, which is located at 71 Division St., will open at 6:30 p.m. and guests can start to arrive around 6 p.m.

Duarte says the shelter may be open throughout the weekend.
