Whether you drive a Chevy Volt, Nissan Leaf, a Tesla or the Fisker Karma, you can have it re-charged as it's parked in the city.

Six charging stations are now in place in New Bedford.   You can find them on the first floor of the Elm Street and Zeiterion garages, and in the Acushnet Avenue International Marketplace.

The number of electric cars registered here in Massachusetts has nearly doubled in the past year.  The city says it would take about six hours to fully charge a Nissan Leaf, and about two hours to charge a Chevy Volt at one of its plugs.
