NEW BEDFORD - A New Bedford man is arrested after police were called to a disturbance in the city's North End.

New Bedford Police responded to the Central Plaza Car Wash at 91 Nauset Street at 7:19 p.m. on Wednesday for a reported disturbance between two men.

Police say during the response that one of the men was making threats, refused to cooperate with police, and was found in possession of a knife larger than city ordinances allow.

Police arrested the man, Robert Jones III, 39, of 1095 Mt. Pleasant Street, New Bedford, and charged him with threatening to commit a crime, disorderly conduct, and carrying a weapon.
