NEW BEDFORD - A New Bedford man is arrested after police find an assortment of drugs in his possession following a traffic stop.

Police stopped a vehicle in the area of 89 Campbell Street at 4:20 p.m. Tuesday for traffic violations, and determined that the driver, Napolean Tavares, 28, of New Bedford, was driving with a revoked license.

Police searched Tavares and found he was in possession of prescription narcotics, 1.75 grams of cocaine in packages, and $990.50 in cash.

Tavares is charged with driving an uninsured motor vehicle, unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, refusing to identify self, use of a motor vehicle without authority, possession of a Class E drug, and possession and distribution of a Class B drug.
