The City of New Bedford Parks Recreation and Beaches will offer a lifeguard training program in partnership with the Friends of Fall River Heritage State Park and the Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation.

The program will include training in American Red Cross life-guarding, first aid, C-P-R, and defibrillation. There will be in-class lessons as well as water-based training. All youth must be 15 or older prior to April 20, 2013.

There is a $175 registration fee. A swim test will be held at the New Bedford High School swimming pool on Sunday, March 3rd at 12:30 p.m. For more information contact the City of New Bedford Parks Department at (508) 961-3015 or Fall River Heritage State Park at (508) 675-5759 ext 503.
