YARMOUTH - A New Bedford man is arraigned on charges connected to an armed robbery in Yarmouth.

On Monday, Yarmouth Police, along with Massachusetts State Police and the New Bedford Police Department's Gang Unit, arrested Michael Stande, 33, at a home on Maxfield Street in New Bedford.

Yarmouth Police say Stande was involved in the January 12 armed robbery at a home at 71 Lower Brook Road, where the victim told police his cell phone had been taken at gunpoint by a female and three large males that fled in a dark-colored sedan.

Later that night, police located and arrested Stande's wife, Kathleen Lyons, 30, of New Bedford, on charges of armed robbery, felony assault and battery while armed with a dangerous weapon, and assault and battery. Police say Lyons was in possession of a 9mm Smith & Wesson handgun and does have an active license to carry in Massachusetts. Lyons pleaded not guilty to the charges on January 16.

Stande, who is the second person charged in the robbery, was arraigned Wednesday in Yarmouth District Court on charges of robbery while armed with a firearm, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, conspiracy and assault and battery. Stande also pleaded not guilty in connection to the robbery.
