Congress has approved a bill that would end furloughs of air traffic controllers.  Hundreds of flights have been delayed, and smaller regional airports, including New Bedford, were faced with closing their control towers.  The senate approved the bill yesterday, and the house has done the same today.  Now it goes to President Obama for his signature.  In New Bedford, the Cape Air flights to the Vineyard and Nantucket could still fly, but it may have been more difficult on bad weather days without the help of the control tower.
