New Bedford 2013 Santa Sightings Run

It was a little chilly, but overall a beautiful day for the 2013 New Bedford Santa Sightings 5K yesterday. Family and friends lined the downtown streets to cheer on the hundreds of bearded Santas decked out in red and white. The winner was a hometown Santa! Mike Grasela of New Bedford crossed the finish line at the 19 minute mark. Second place was Dave Barr of Liverpool, England. Coincidentally, Dave organizes the Santa Sightings run in Liverpool, which draws 10,000 runners. Third place was Tyler Kent, a junior at Easton High School. The winner for the ladies was Chenice Branquinho of East Freetown.
