The neglected dog found wandering the streets of Westport last month has a new place to call home.

NBC 10 reports that Jersey, the blind dog with matted hair, bladder stones and dental disease, has finally recovered enough to be placed in a temporary home.

The 8-year-old dog will be living in a law enforcement foster-to-adopt home in Rhode Island.

Jersey has had several successful surgeries since being found in Westport and is said to be recovering nicely.

The dog's owners are facing charges of animal cruelty.
