After an extremely rainy June, the Massachusetts Department of Public Health had concerns that there could be a major spike in the mosquito population. Although the June was three times rainier than a normal June, the mosquitos' numbers only increased slightly.

However, the Bristol County Mosquito Control Project is not breathing a sigh of relief, yet. They fully expect a busier than usual summer. A mosquito has already tested positive for West Nile virus. Parts of New Bedford will be ground sprayed overnight tonight.  Click the button below to see where the spraying will take place.
