More Information On 195 Crash In Westport

Three people are dead following a two vehicle crash on Interstate 195 eastbound this morning in Westport.

State Police in Dartmouth say the fiery crash happened just before 8:15. Police say a livery van heading westbound crossed the center median and collided head on with a 2007 BMW traveling east.

State Police tell WBSM News, two people in the van were killed, along with a 23 year old New Bedford woman in the second vehicle.

A passenger in the van and two passengers in the BMW, including a toddler, were taken to area hospitals. Two other people traveling in other vehicles also suffered minor injuries and were taken to area hospitals for treatment.

Traffic was divered to Route 6 via Route 88 in Westport during the investigation. No names have been released.
