Monopoly fans sent the thimble token directly to jail Thursday, as Hasbro, Inc. announced it will not be featured in the board game's summer release.

The fall of the thimble is a result of the toy company's online voting campaign that put the classic game pieces against dozens of new ones that launched in January, which tallied over 4 million total votes.

New options include a hashtag, emoji, rubber duck and bunny slipper.

The final cast for the updated August release of the board game will be announced on World Monopoly Day, March 19th.

In 2013, Monopoly dropped another iconic token, the iron, and replaced it with a cat.
