UMASS Dartmouth took a pass on Mark Wahlberg's offer, but another school has decided to allow the Boston Marathon bombing movie to film on campus.

MIT has agreed to allow filming on campus for Mark Wahlberg's "Patriots Day" film, according to The Boston Herald.  Only "peaceful scenes” will be allowed to be filmed on campus.  Out of sensitivity to the family and the campus at large, the murder of MIT police officer Sean Collier will be acted out on a sound stage.  The scenes on campus will depict Collier driving to campus, walking to a room, and talking to grad students says the Herald.

Filming will take place over three days during the summer break.

UMASS Dartmouth decided not to allow any filming on campus over fears that it would be too disruptive.
