The man who went overboard from a boat in South Watuppa Pond Saturday afternoon has been identified.

The Fall River Herald is reporting that the 35-year-old man is Emerson Belirio of Fall River.

The search for Belirio was called off around 7 p.m. on Sunday night and will continue on Monday morning,

Belirio was a passenger on a 20-foot Sea King Cabin Cruiser with his wife, their two children and another married couple, who own the boat, when it was reported to police that he had gone overboard around 4:45 p.m. on Saturday.

It is not believed that foul play or alcohol had anything to do with the incident.

Rescue teams have been searching the waters of South Watuppa Pond since Saturday afternoon.

According to the Herald, the search is being conducted by Fall River Police, Fall River Fire, the Environmental Police, Fall River Emergency Management, Massachusetts State Police Air Wing, Massachusetts State Police troopers assigned to this office and a sonar boat being operated by Bob Anderson of Ocean Server.
