Miss New Bedford is back and are looking for contestants. The best part... You need no experience and the winner will receive a $3,500 Scholarship!

As the 64th annual pageant comes rolling in, they are seeking contestants from the Greater New Bedford area. This years winner will not only win a $3.500 Scholarship, but also thousands in additional gifts and prizes. An estimated $10,000 in additional scholarship money will be awarded among the remaining contestants.

Not only will the winner win the scholarship, but will also have the year of a lifetime. The young woman will fulfill a year-long reign serving New Bedford and its surrounding communities.

She will enjoy:

  • The chance to develop confidence, poise, leadership skills, network and build relationships, engage with area officials and issues, and develop an incredible resume.
  • A $3,500 scholarship and thousands of dollars in redeemable prizes at businesses throughout the community. This includes personal trainers, makeup artistry, wardrobe allowances, hair/nail service, and more.
  • The opportunity to represent New Bedford at the Miss Massachusetts pageant and compete for additional scholarship money. If she wins, she will compete for the title of Miss America.
  • A year devoted to a personal platform/ issue of her choice.

Contestants must be between the ages of 17 and 24 and must work, live, or attend school in New Bedford, Acushnet, Dartmouth, Fairhaven, Wareham, Assonet, Freetown, Lakeville, Mattapoisett, Rochester, and/or Westport.

An information session will be held on Sunday, August 14that 10:00 a.m. at the Cheryl McCormack Academy of Dance located at 731 Tarkin Hill Road, New Bedford. This years pageant will be held on Saturday, September 1st at 6:00 p.m. at Greater New Bedford Regional Vocational Technical High School.
