Here is video of me cutting down my own Christmas tree yesterday at Douglas Tree Farm on Sconticut Neck Road in Fairhaven.

Each year, Douglas Tree Farm sells Christmas trees to raise money for ALS, or "Lou Gehrig's Disease".  Last summer's drought prevented the farm from selling trees last year, but the previous year I may have let one of the volunteers (who happened to be a 16 year old girl) cut down my Christmas tree.  Abby lost it when she heard about it on Thursday.  Listen to her assault on the radio below:

Needless to say, my manhood was being challenged, my back was against the wall, and I had to cut this tree down by myself without the help of any volunteers.

I started off strong.  I had momentum on my side as I used the hacksaw to slowly cut into the tree.  Progress, however, came slower than expected.  With every cut from the saw, pine needles would fall into my eyes and mouth.  I was starting to lose my adrenaline.  Then, I heard a distant voice mumble something about a chainsaw.  Those words never sounded so sweet.  You'll see in the video that I did not succumb to the easy way out at first!

Wait til you see me try to get this thing into the house!
